The Evans: January 2011

Since we both didn't have to work on Martin Luther King day and since Dustin had no school we decided to go down to Portland to visit Dustin's aunt and uncle for the weekend. We were nervous since this was going to be Sydney's first long road trip. We left Sunday morning and Sydney slept most of the way there she was so good. We got there in the afternoon and went and did some shopping than headed to the town were Dustin lived by Salem called Independence it was fun to see his old house and the middle school he went to. After that we heard to his aunts and uncles place were we had dinner and played games that night.

On Monday we went to visited Mission Mill museum in Salem. was a old Methodist settlement back when Oregon was still a territory. Later it become a wool mill that shut down in the early 60's.

We took a tour around the mill it was very cool to see all the old machine's and how long it took to make the wool. After the mill we looked around the old buildings that the Methodist settlers lived in one of which is the oldest home in the Northwest. After that it was time to head home it was a very short trip but it was fun to get out of town and Sydney was so good. Next trip California in march but that time we are flying.

So i know i behind but this last month was a crazy one not just cause of Christmas but we moved three days after it and just now got out Internet back up. December started off with Sydney going to the doctors here are here measurements.

She weight 9lbs and 11oz (20 t0 30%)

she is 21 inches long ( 20 to 30%)

i forgot her head but she is only in the 10 % for it

As you can tell she is still on the tiny size. She had to get two shots which was not fun at all. Dustin had finals the week of the 13 and got done early that week . My brother Evan got his mission call on the 10th he is going to São Paulo Brazil Portuguese speaking he leaves the 26 of April and will go to the CMT (MTC in Brazil) we are so exitied we know he will be a great missionary but will miss him. Evan came home on the 17 for break it was so much fun to have him back. As for Christmas it was send home this with have a two month old it was Dustin's first Gutzman Christmas since we have been married. We had Christmas eve with at my great aunts, than that night we opened presents with my aunts family and spend the night at my parents we opened present that morning ( Sydney feel asleep right before we started but woke up to open her last few) and than went to see a movie Sydney slept through most of it which was really nice. then after the movie a whole group of family and friends came over to my parents place for dinner and playing games it was a great time. Sydney got lots of clothes and toys for Christmas. On the 28 we moved into our new place it is still in the same complex so it was easy to move we had a lot of help and moved in very quickly that we were all unpacked that night the apartment is way bigger place we love having so much more room to put all of Sydney's things. New years eve Dustin got off at two and my good friend Melissa, her husband Dave and their little girl Emily where in town for Christmas come by for a visit it was great to see them, and hope to make it down some time to see them in Utah. That night my dad and brother Trent came over (my mom was taking Evan back to Rexburg) to have dinner and ring in the new year. Sydney made it to ten and than was out for the night. 2010 was amazing year for us here are the highlights of them.

Of course number one is the birth of our beautiful daughter she is such a blessing in our lives we are so grateful for her and love her so much

we moved twice this year i know crazy but we plan to stay put at this place til Dustin is done with school.

those are just a few things we did 2010 was such a blessed year and we look forward to the new new year and many more blessings and here are some highlights we look forward to doing.
